MRI Scans Tommy & D'Arcy - Carolus Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
M.R.I Scans of.....
Carolus Tommy Atkins JW ShCM (adult scan @ 3 years)
Carolus Cardinal JW (taken at 12 years of age)
These 2 MRI scan reports have been issued by the Stone Lion Veterinary Centre and read by Clare Rusbridge BVMS PhD DECVN MRCVS RCVS. You will see that they both have the images taken from the MRI scans printed onto the report certificates. This enables us to check one result against the other. You will see that Tommy does not have the dark circle (syrinx) on the image of his spinal cord and he does not have any dark fluid in the image of his middle ear. We also found out that D'Arcy has disk damage to his neck sustained sometime in the past. Fortunately, to date, it has given him no noticeable problem apart from not liking his ears brushed and he shows no signs at all of SM and at his age is very unlikely too.
"You can see the grading system chart on the following Club website:- link:http://www.thecavalierclub.co.uk/start.html - go to 'Cavalier Health' - 'Syringiomyelia' and click on the arrow for 'MRI Screening and Breeding Recommendations - January 2007'. Almost at the bottom of the page is the little table with the information".
